Daily Role and Duties
The Assistant Site Manager supports the Site Manager by ensuring smooth daily operations of the forecourt and shop, and looks after customer satisfaction at all times.
This role involves supervising staff, coordinating duties, and guaranteeing that the site delivers exceptional customer service. Ownership and accountability are key — in the absence of the Site Manager, you take charge, making important decisions and liaising directly with senior management when needed.
Your day will be a mix of planning shifts, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and handling any challenges that arise. Direct problem-solving, communication, and performance management are core elements of the job.
Regular staff training and development are supported by the company, helping to keep service standards high and giving you the chance to upskill as you go.
With no remote working offered, being present onsite gives a close-knit, team-oriented environment that suits those who thrive with hands-on responsibility.
What Makes This Role Stand Out
One standout advantage is the excellent benefits package you receive as an employee. Competitive pay is paired with valuable perks like a health cash plan, life insurance, and generous discounts on fuel and shop goods.
The role offers a strong pathway for development, giving you the tools and support to become a future leader within the company through continual in-store training and real management responsibility early on.
Consider the Limitations
There is no option for remote or hybrid work here, which may not appeal to everyone. Onsite presence is a must, with the usual pressures that come with retail and forecourt environments.
The job can be demanding, especially during busy periods or when you are covering for the Site Manager, so adaptability is important for success.
